MATH-138 Statistics

4 Credits (Mathematics Core)

In this course, students will develop the skills necessary to examine basic statistical terminology, develop pictorial and analytical distributions and use statistical tables. A calculator and a statistical computation programme are used to calculate measures of central location and variation, etc. Other topics include the normal distribution, linear regression and correlation, sampling, hypothesis testing, the chi square test and probability related to statistics. Prerequisite:

MATH-070 or higher or appropriate score on mathematics placement test.
