An Engaging Introduction to Business Fundamentals.
The certificate program covers nine modules in the following areas: Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Marketing, Leadership, Management, International Business, Import & Export, Business Law, Retail Management, and Supply Chain Management.
HGBSE introduced business essentials program with the purpose of teaching students the fundamentals of business. Students get a meaningful overview of management principles and disciplines through classes specifically designed to be engaging, interactive and fun. The program provides students with primary knowledge of accounting, human resources, entrepreneurship, marketing, management, leadership, supply chain management, retail management, business law, import & export management and international business.
This program offers the opportunity for business owners that want to improve their knowledge of managing a company. Having a grasp of accounting, marketing, finance, and the other functions explored in this program can prove to be a real asset in almost any work setting. The multidisciplinary approach of Business Essentials combines with its experiential learning components ensures that students leave the course with a holistic understanding of management and how all the functions of a business have to work together.
Classes are offered Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from 10am to 12noon, and from 5pm to 7pm. Approximately, 8 – 12 hours total to complete nine 2 – 3 hour modules. Each module lasts for four weeks, 2-3 hours/week. Students are required to complete all nine modules and participate in a leadership team of fictional company that encounters problems—from lawsuits to personnel issues and everything in between. Upon completion of these nine modules students receive their certificates in Business Essentials.
There are no requirements to enroll but students are expected to be able to read and write in English and have basic knowledge of mathematics. Courses are taught by professionals and industry experts with years of subject area experience.
